Flint's Blessing - November 2012

We had a really nice day - despite forgetting that this week was Stake Conference and we would not be able to bless Flint at church. :) We attended our meetings and then blessed him at home with family and friends. It was a beautiful experience. We sang I Am a Child of God and Tyler gave him a beautiful blessing. Leanne wrote down what he said. THANK YOU Leanne!! :)

Here's what she wrote:
Flint Richard Evans
…give you a blessing. bless that the spirit might be in your life
…to be guided by the spirit
…seek out the companionship of the spirit
…through the spirit you communicate with heavenly father
…through the spirit you will be comforted
…through the spirit you will find peace
…bless you to stay close to the spirit to overcome temptations and the challenges that will prepare you to return to heavenly father
…bless you with the strength you need to overcome your challenges
…you are loved
…you have much support on this side and the other side
…bless you to have a fruitful life
…you will help many people

Here's what I wrote afterwards:
Tyler gave Flint a name and a blessing today at home after Stake Conference. Grandpa and Grandma Coleman, Scott, Leanne, Addie, Eden, Taylor & Melanie Jacobson, Jessica, Amber & Becky were here – as well as Brother Doug Cooley from the Bishopric and our little family. We missed Grandpa Terry, Grandma Marilee, Uncle Trevor and Uncle Trent. We would have loved to have them here too. We know they would have loved to be here if they could.

The blessing was beautiful. The part that stuck out to me was that Tyler blessed him that he would help other people and bless the lives of others. I know he has already blessed me so much. He has changed my perspective over the last couple months. He has such a sweet and happy personality – I love to be with him, It’s been a busy couple months while Tyler has been working lots of hours and the kids and I miss him a lot. Preschool has started and Cole and Brookie are getting used to being older siblings and Flint is very patient with them. They’re all teaching me through their examples. I’m so thankful for these sweet children Heavenly Father has entrusted to me. I’m so thankful for Flint and his sweet happy personality and the spirit he has brought into our home. He’s already showing a special patience and a love toward our family. I feel the strength in him that I know Heavenly Father has given him to do a special work. I feel so blessed to know Flint and be a part of his family. J
