April 2013

I'm so far behind with blogging I may never catch up... Been thinking about these cute kiddos a lot lately!  Tyler and I are so blessed to have them! We are lucky parents!! Her'es a bit of what they're up to lately:

Coleman - 5 1/2
Foods:
Coleman likes treats! – ice cream, cookies, cake, licorice, jelly bellys, & popcorn
He likes plain noodles, steak, shrimp, crackers, Lunchables, lunch meat, PB&J, “chocolate” (Nutella) sandwiches, ALL FRUIT – kiwi, strawberry, blueberry, bananas, pineapple, grapes are the favorites (– also LOVES smoothies) & VEGGIES – broccoli, spinach, tomatoes, carrots, celery, potatoes (dry baked potatoes) are the favorites, rice, pancakes, granola, cereal with honey, French toast, “sour sweet sauce,” WATER is the beverage of choice, ice, wheat bread, cornbread, trail mix, plain nuts, & yogurt.

Cole loves his special blanket, “blue blue.”  He likes playing with his Lego sets, plastic animals, toy guns, swords and dress-ups (Captain America, Spiderman, Jr. Ranger, & Fire Fighter mostly). He carries around stuff in bags and backpacks all the time!

Coleman enjoys music class, preschool, Legos, Primary, (gave his first talk a couple weeks ago), playing with friends, dress-ups, make believe, books (especially non-fiction), movies, riding his bike, building with Legos, Zoobs & other blocks, plays Angry Birds & starfall & likes to paint on the iPod, draws maps, people, planets, robots. He is very good at remembering and using ASL signs! He tells funny stories!

Coleman says the most interesting prayers. He’s had wonderful experiences praying and he has a testimony that Heavenly Father answers prayers. He does say some funny things sometimes though. J The latest funny ones – “I’m thankful for Brookie’s arms” and “I’m thankful for the solar system.”

We love this guy! He’s mostly even tempered and  has a really practical brain. If he’ll listen, he’s easy to reason with. He’s got a very tender heart. He is kind to others and sweet to his siblings (especially Flint who is probably easier to associate with – except for his drool. Cole’s not a fan of drool!). He loves his daddy and wants to be just like  him. He misses him when he’s gone, but always makes up for lost time with a good wrestle whenever he can. Thank you Coleman for being such a joy in our lives. We love you with all our hearts!!

Brookie - 3, almost 4
Foods:
Likes flavorful food. LOVES cheese! Mac and cheese, spaghetti, pasta salad with feta cheese and all the Greek toppings/dressing, tomatoes, bananas, all sorts of fruit and veggies – her favorites are carrost, bananas, canned anything, kiwi, & berries. She loves smoothies – even with tons of spinach in them! YAY! She’s not hard to please. It’s just  hard to keep her sitting long enough to eat. J

Loves her “purple blankie,” “big Cinderella doll,”  “Barbies” (Disney princess dolls), art supplies and stuffed animals!!

You won't see this girl matching in the traditional sense, but she has a definite opinion of how every outfit should go. She loves pink and purple, polka dots, sandals, painted fingernails and toenails and RINGS!! Quite the fashion diva! She also insists on doing her own hair and prefers wearing headbands to pony tails or braids. Funny little monkey. :)

Brookie enjoys music class, preschool, Primary, playing with friends, riding her bike, picking dandelions, playing outside, swings, slides, coloring/painting, play doh, Starfall, paint and games on Tyler’s iPod, helping in the kitchen (unloading/loading dishwasher, cooking/baking anything!!) very good helper!! She is also very good at remembering ASL signs! Brookie loves to play with her little brother! She LOVES to cuddle and be a helper. She loves to read books and watch movies (Tinkerbell is the latest favorite).

What a wonderful little girl we have been blessed with! She is feisty and funny. Very opinionated and adamant about everything!  We love having her in our lives! What a blessing she is to our family! We love you, Brookie, with all our hearts!!

Flint - 7 months
Favorite foods: Babyfood fruit/veggies (sweet potatoes, pears with raspberries, apples with blueberries, mixed fruit with mango and kiwi, peas, & squash are the favorites), Cheerios, yogurt bites, bread, graham crackers, Ritz crackers, pizza, & oatmeal.

Favorite things: afghans, dog puppets, stuffed animals, blocks, my phone, balls of any kind, anything that goes in his mouth, anything that makes a noise, Old MacDonald book, touch and feel books, I’ve Been Working of the Railroad, The Grand Old Duke of York, & playing with Cole and Brookie.

Schedlue:
None, really.
Wakes up between 1 and 4 times at night.
Up for the day between 6 and 8
Likes to play then eat breakfast
Naps 2 or 3 times
Eats dinner with the family or just before
Goes to bed between 6 and 930

Can feed himself cheerios & yogurt bites with pincher fingers. Sometimes has a hard time letting go of the food in his mouth though. He is really really good at rolling over from back to front. Front to back makes him grumpy. He sits really well and will play for a long time with toys around him. He has never been afraid to reach for a toy even if it means falling over. If he’s rested, he doesn’t mind. Even seems to do it on purpose sometimes. If he’s tired, he cries and wants to be held. He still likes to be held, but will probably be done with that soon. He’s trying to crawl. He can pivot around in circles on his bum if he’s sitting or back if he’s lying down.  He can get into a crawling position from sitting and can move forward with great effort smooshing his face along the ground. Still working on the arms thing.

Flint has a beautiful and sweet spirit about him. I feel peaceful around him. I love to think of where he came from and the potential he has for good on this earth! What a blessing he is in my life. I even enjoy getting up with him (most of the time). This little guy has a smile that will light up a room. Everyone is always stopping us to say how big, beautiful and expressive his eyes are. He’s such a handsome guy – and likes to flirt a little here and there too. He pretends to be shy sometimes, but really is a people person. He loves having conversations with people or just being talked to. He really tunes in to music and singing,  sign language, & other kids. He loves to get attention and will remind you if he’s feeling lonely. He has started babbling to himself a lot and it’s about the cutest thing EVER! LOVE this boy. He fills our lives with joy! I’m so thankful for him and the sweet spirit he brings into our home.

That's us in a nutshell. :) Tyler and I are about the same. He's amazing! He works so many hours and still has time for our family. I love him with all my heart! He's so much more than what I hoped to have in a husband.  I feel so blessed to be married to such a wonderful man!
