Lake Powell

We had a great time at Lake Powell with our friends! The end of May is a great time to get down there while it's still cool and the lake is much more open. That's the best kept secret of Lake Powell - the "off season." The best time we've been down there was in November.

This trip was a blast. We got to hang out with friends we don't get to see all the time and friends who are moving away. It was great to spend the time together before everybody's off to school and work and other grown-up things. We drove down with Sam and had a very eventful trip. Gotta be careful of those cops in Fillmore!!!

When we finally did make it to Powell, the first day of skiing was AWESOME! The water was beautiful and it was great to be out with friends. I still can't quite master getting up on one ski, but maybe later. It was fun just to be out. Coleman especially loved the water and the boat. He also LOVED playing with his friends, Bryce and Hannah.

The middle of the trip was a bit of a downer - funny to look back on, but not so funny at the time. Almost everybody on the houseboat got sick from something (yet to be determined). Everyone was throwing up and camping out in the bathrooms. NOT FUN! A bunch of us got stuck out on the ramp and had our own little camp out there where all the people were walking by. What a site! So much for thinking it was motion sickness - - - the land didn't help! Our friends were such troopers - taking care of the babies, bringing water and blankets and finally even running shuttles from the houseboat to the hospital all night long!

After that we didn't eat much, but we all had a great time hanging out, playing Mario Cart and Being out on the water. Everyone seemed to look fantastic skiing, air chairing and wakeboarding, so at least being sick didn't ruin that.

All in all it was a MEMORABLE trip!!!
